England continued their dominant winning streak with a 7-84 win over Scotland at Scottish Gas Murrayfield, extending that streak to 35 consecutive wins, having not lost since the 2022 World Cup final against New Zealand. It was a record-breaking event, with over 30,000 ticket sales, making the fixture the largest Women’s sporting event in Scotland.

Scotland looked to strike early, but an effort from prop Clarke was held up by the stalwart English defense. England then flipped the switch, and superstar Ellie Kildunne opened the scoring with the first of her brace. Tries came from Jones and Clifford before Sing scored moments before the halftime whistle. A neat collection in the 36th minute from Nelson meant Scotland entered the tunnel with points on the board.

However, the hosts would then endure a scoreless second half, as early changes couldn’t make up for the difference between the two teams. Tries from Cokayne, Bern, Packer, Kabeya, Venner, and a final one from Lutui cemented the difference in the two teams. Scotland’s physicality dropped off in the final 10, and England ran rampant.

Despite playing the full 80 minutes, she had little to show for it. Around 50 meters made from eight carries and a defender beaten, but conceded a turnover and missed as many tackles as she made.

Patient on the wing, collected chip perfectly to score Scotland’s first behind the posts after dodging three English players. Scotland scored its only try and beat five defenders, but missed three key tackles. Came off due to a HIA.

Came off early in the second half with an injured forearm. She worked hard to keep back the English centers but conceded a crucial turnover.

Good kick placement and worked hard in attack and defense. She was a solid crash ball option for the Scotland attack, but also acted as a wall in defense, with good, dominant tackles.

It didn’t click for her today; she felt quite isolated in her position, and it was not too dissimilar to watching a sevens player. Took her chances when she had them, but couldn’t make much of them outside of a couple of carries.

Started weak but came into the game more as it went on. Had a successful conversion from Lloyd’s try, but her kicking was not up to her usual standard, with several over- or undershot kicks. She got stuck in but conceded three turnovers and missed four tackles.

Early HIA check saw her leave the field early before coming back on shortly after. Good distribution, but was sometimes slow getting the ball out of the ruck. A few missed tackles and penalties conceded marred what was not a bad effort from the half-back.

Brought the forward stability she provides. Great at breakdowns and securing the ball. Played a major role in Scotland’s good scrummage, but hit only four tackles, and with three missed, the ratio wasn’t fantastic.

Good scrummaging, held her own, and acted as the core foundation for the forwards to build upon. Mostly Accurate lineout throws, though some flew a little too close to English hands. Also worked well on offense with some great crash ball.

Strong ball carrying, especially with her first try attempt (3 mins), which was held up just over the line, but she kept her head high and kept battling her English counterparts. Secured the set pieces alongside her front row cohort. Beat four defenders and was pivotal in driving Scotland’s ball forward the few times they did.

Good in the air in lineout and great tackling; didn’t miss a tackle and was one of the stronger defensive cogs in the Scotland defensive machine.

Underwhelming. We didn’t see much from her on or off the ball, with only one carry and five tackles.

Good work off the ball, in breakdowns and tackles. Led the forwards through a tough battle to try and keep their physicality up until the bitter end. Also acted well in crash ball scenarios.

Good in Scotland’s lineouts, but was easy to miss, a couple of carries and some not middling tackle numbers combined with a conceded penalty saw her substituted just into the second half.

Nice break set up an early opportunity for Clarke. Strong crash ball option for the Scottish attack allowed for a few punctures in the white wall. Got involved defensively in tackles and breakdowns, but missed a few tackles.

Try saving tackle on Mia Venner in the last 20 minutes was the highlight of her game, a few tackles, and she conceded a penalty.

Debut appearance and her inexperience were shown in five missed tackles, but she can’t be knocked for effort. Came on a little earlier than expected due to an early HIA.

Stuck everywhere, a real nuisance to the English attack and breakdown; it wasn’t successful in winning turnovers, but managed to slow what was a rapid English ruck speed. However, missed as many tackles as she made.

Brought energy off the bench, but the game was already gone at this point. Didn’t get an opportunity to impact the game, but injected some positivity back into the side.
