Statement: BBC & ITV agree new four-year Six Nations rights deal

Under the agreement, the BBC will show live coverage, highlights, and digital clips of the tournament, with five Scotland and Wales matches every year. Meanwhile, ITV will continue to bring fans all 10 live games each season, including every England fixture throughout the deal, which kicks off in 2026.

It's not just the men's game getting top-tier coverage. BBC Sport will also broadcast the Women's Six Nations and Under-20 Six Nations across TV and iPlayer while maintaining live audio commentary on radio, BBC Sounds, and digital platforms.

BBC director of sport Alex Kay-Jelski hailed the deal as "fantastic news for rugby and the BBC," ensuring the sport remains accessible to all. "We are proud to bring the biggest sporting moments to our audiences, and this is the perfect news ahead of our exclusive Women's Rugby World Cup coverage this summer," he added.

ITV's director of sport, Niall Sloane, called it a "monumental deal for rugby fans," ensuring the broadcaster remains the home of every England match. "England’s clashes with Ireland, Scotland, and Wales are always unmissable, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with Six Nations Rugby," he said.
