Statement: England star cited after defeat against Scotland

Henry Arundell will attend an independent disciplinary hearing following his red card in England’s Men’s Six Nations Championship clash with Scotland on Saturday 14 February 2026.

The England wing, wearing No.11, was dismissed after receiving two yellow cards from referee Nika Amashukeli during the fixture between Scotland and England.

The first yellow card was issued for an act of foul play contrary to Law 9.4, which states that a player must not intentionally prevent an opponent from having the opportunity to play the ball, other than by competing for possession.

The second offence fell under Law 9.17, which prohibits a player from tackling, charging, pulling, pushing or grasping an opponent whose feet are off the ground.

As a result of the two yellow cards, Arundell was shown a red card and will now face a disciplinary hearing.

The hearing will take place via video conference on Tuesday 17 February 2026 at 8:00am (GMT) before an independent Disciplinary Committee comprising Nigel Hampton KC (Chair), Ofisa Tonu'u and Donal Courtney.

A decision on any sanction will be announced in due course.
