"They'll get their chance" - Martin Johnson picks out 3 England players to watch this Autumn

In an interview with Sky Sports, the World Cup-winner picked out five of the most exciting players to watch during the upcoming Autumn Nations Series.

He was part of the England Under 20 side who won the IRB Junior World Championship in 2013. Wells spent time on loan at Notthingham and Bedford Blues in the Greene King IPA Championship before becoming a regular at Welford Road during the 2016/17 season. At the age of 27 he received his first call-up to the senior England squad in June 2021.

Marcus became the second-youngest Premiership debutant in history, behind George Ford, when making his Harlequins bow against London Irish aged 18 years and 200 days in September 2017. The fly-half made 28 appearances for Harlequins in all competitions during the 2017/18 season scoring three tries on his way to 208 points. He was named as an apprentice in the England party for the Old Mutual Wealth series that autumn and continued in that role during the 2018 NatWest 6 Nations. He featured for the England XV side that beat the Barbarians 51-43 at Twickenham in May 2019, scoring 26 of those points in a stand-out performance.

Helping the Falcons to promotion during the 2019-20 campaign with a string of eye-catching tries, he continued his progression with seven tries in 11 games during the 2020-21 season, earning a call-up for England's 2021 summer internationals. Taking his opportunity with both hands he scored a hat-trick on his England debut against Canada in July 2021, earning the fans' man of the match in the process.
