Three best and three worst England hopefuls from round 2 of the Premiership

Plenty of players put in solid performances this weekend, but that certainly wasn’t the case for everyone in round two.

Jones has already omitted Billy and Mako Vunipola, Jamie George and George Ford from a 45-man training group that will gather on Sunday for a brief camp ahead of Tests against Tonga, Australia and South Africa in November.

Leicestershire Live: "Seven tries in his last 10 games for club and country is some return for a loosehead prop whose setpiece work doesn’t suffer as a consequence of his attacking contributions.

"He made a one lovely carry off a Steward offload, side-stepping his way past Kyle Moyle and his appetite in defence was shown to all, with his outstanding line speed throughout."

Coventry Live: "It was a dream debut for the former Saracens full-back as he scored two tries in the first half. The first one showcased his electric pace, the second one showed footwork that has not been seen at the CBS Arena since Christian Wade’s glory era."

Northampton Chronicle: "What a start to the season for the flying full-back! He was man of the match against Gloucester and he stepped up late on here to seal another win."

Gloucestershire Live: He knocked on in the build-up to the second Leicester try and then left the field with a HIA in the 27th minute and failed to assert himself when he returned, often driving across the pitch looking for gaps which proved not to be there"

Somerset Live: "He failed to break through the abrasive Falcons’ defensive line in his 61-minutes, which made his impact in attack minimal. Bath will hope he will return to his usual enthralling best for Friday’s game in Bristol."

Somerset Live: "Was unfortunate to get taken out of the game before he could make his usual stamp on it. Bath’s growing injury list is starting to become concerning, so they will hope this knock doesn’t keep him out for long.
