Adam Radwan and Rieko Ioane are about to showcase their incredible speed during the 2021 Autumn Nations Series - but who are the fastest rugby players?

Below, we rank the top four by their MPS (metres per second). This measurement is how things tend to be recorded these days rather than, say, a classic timed 100m sprint.

Players wear GPS tracking devices during training sessions and matches, which can record their maximum velocity when in motion.

Fastest Rugby Players:

#4. Louis Rees-Zammit (Wales) - 10.5 m/s

The Welsh wing-wizard clocked 10.5 metres per second (23.48mph) in a game for Gloucester against Saracens in the season before last.

#3. Jonny May (England) - 10.59 m/s

The Gloucester wingers best recorded time is 10.59 metres per second, which equates to 23.68 miles per hour, while playing for England against the Barbarians in 2018.

#2. Rieko Ioane (New Zealand) - 10.69 m/s

Ioane was clocked at 10.69 metres per second (23.92 mph) when making a try-saving chase and tackle against Australia last month. That puts him ahead of Rees-Zammit and May.

#1. Adam Radwan (England) - 10.85 m/s

Radwan is faster than them all, with that recorded top speed bettered only by Christian Wade who is now trying to forge a career in NFL. He has been clocked at an astonishing maximum speed of 11.2 metres per seconds.
