EXCLUSIVE: Leicester Tigers set to lose forward to PREM Rugby rivals

RUCK understands that Haffar will depart Tigers when his current deal expires, although his next destination has not yet been decided.

The 25-year-old is viewed as a modern, mobile prop, but Leicester are believed to be looking for greater power in their front row and have decided to move in a different direction.

Archie van der Flier and Mako Vunipola are currently ahead of him in the pecking order, with both offering greater physicality and power than Haffar.

Newcastle Red Bulls and Bristol Bears have both emerged as early contenders for his signature, with Haffar's athletic style believed to suit the way both clubs want to play.

Haffar joined Leicester in the summer of 2025 after spending two seasons with Northampton Saints.

His first campaign at Welford Road was limited to seven league appearances, although he made his mark in the Prem Rugby Cup final against Exeter Chiefs by scoring a try as Tigers lifted the trophy.

The loosehead has plenty of experience at international age-grade level, having represented England U18 and U20. He was part of the England U20 side that completed a Junior Six Nations Grand Slam in 2021.

Haffar began his career in the London Irish Academy before making his senior debut for the club in 2022. He then moved to Northampton ahead of the 2023/24 season.

Further international recognition followed last year when he featured for England A alongside current Leicester teammates Jack van Poortvliet and Ollie Hassell-Collins.

He went on to make three appearances for England A during the campaign, featuring against Ireland A, the All Blacks XV and Spain.

At 25, Haffar remains a prop with plenty of potential and his departure appears to be more about style than Leicester viewing him as a player who cannot cut it at this level.

A move elsewhere could provide the England A international with the opportunity to play more regularly and take the next step in his development.
