Saracens confirm fourth departure as international star retires

Saracens have confirmed that a fourth player will leaving the club as former Scotland international Tim Swinson hangs up his boots.

The former Scotland international, who was tempted out of retirement two years ago to play for his boyhood club has had an incredible impact at StoneX Stadium.

The Players’ Player of the Season in the Championship winning campaign has made 41 appearances in North London since joining, forming a formidable partnership with the likes of Maro Itoje and Nick Isiekwe in the second-row. 

Swinson, who got 38 caps for Scotland and won the Pro12 with Glasgow has had a glittering career spanning 16 years at the highest level.

Saracens are set to lose a number of senior players at the end of the 2021/22 Gallagher Premiership season.

#1. Richard Barrington to Agen

The loosehead, who has made 220 appearances for the Men in Black in his nine-year spell in North London has been a huge part of the success both domestically and on the European front. 

The 31-year-old played in all four of the successful Premiership finals at Twickenham, and also won three European Cups to add to his incredible record at Saracens. 

He will head to South-Western France next season to join Agen in an exciting move for the front-rower.
