Saracens statement: Andy Farrell

Recent reports had suggested that Farrell could be set for a dramatic reunion with the North London side once his current contract with Ireland expires after the 2027 Rugby World Cup. Some reports even indicated he could be lined up for a senior role at StoneX Stadium.

However, Saracens have categorically dismissed those claims.

In a strongly worded club statement, Saracens confirmed that Farrell “has not discussed his future with anyone on the board or ownership group” and stressed that “no offer has been made” despite reports to the contrary.

The club also described the reporting as “misguided” and “disrespectful” to Brendan Venter, who is set to assume Director of Rugby responsibilities from Mark McCall at the end of the 2025/26 season. It added that the speculation was also disrespectful to both Farrell and the IRFU.

While ruling out any current talks, Saracens acknowledged Farrell’s deep ties to the club. He represented Saracens as a player between 2005 and 2009 and remains closely connected through his son, Owen Farrell — one of the most decorated players in the club’s history and a current member of the squad.

For now, the club insists there is no coaching move on the table, bringing an emphatic end to the latest round of speculation.
