Sale Sharks flanker Tom Curry will miss the chance to stake a claim for an England starting spot after injury ruled him out of the autumn internationals.
The Sale openside was due to be on the bench for Saturday’s clash with Argentina, but will now miss all of England’s pre-Six Nations appointments because of a dislocated wrist.

A Rugby Football Union statement on Thursday said: “Following a scan this afternoon it has been confirmed that Tom Curry dislocated a small bone in his left wrist today.
“He underwent a minor operation this evening and is likely to be out for up to 12 weeks.”
Exeter’s Sam Simmonds will now make his England debut, taking Curry’s place on the bench.
