Six Nations underperforming XV: Misfiring Finn Russell and more

We look at which Six Nations players have failed to failed to live up to expectations in the competition so far based on their Six Nations fantasy Rugby performances.
Fullback: Stuart Hogg - Scotland
Value: 5 Points: 8
A massive 81% of fans have picked the Scottish speedster in their teams and although his performances have not been terrible - his fantasy points have been uninspiring with Mike Brown proving better value for money so far.
Winger: Tommy Seymour - Scotland
Value: 4 Points: 4
He ended the Lions tour as top try-scorer but the Glasgow winger has failed to make a similar impact on the 2018 Six Nations thus far. It's fair to say the over 10% of players wh picked him will be disappointed.
Centre: Jonathan Joseph - England
Value: 4 Points: 4
Considering 16% of fans invested in the centre, they'll be disappointed he's not done more with his time on the pitch. A replacement against Italy, he then started against Wales but never really looked like scoring.
Centre: Chris Harris - Scotland
Value: 2 Points: 3
He had a nightmare against Wales and is unlikely to get another start in the Six Nations this year. Didn't live up to the hype.
Winger: George North - Wales
Value: 5 Points: 1
The expensive winger hasn't had a chance to deliver yet. The 10% of fans that have picked him will be hoping he can turn his form around this weekend from the bench.
Fly-half: Finn Russell - Scotland
Value: 5 Points: 10
His poor form has been reflected in his fantasy league points, being outscored so far by the likes of George Ford and Tomasso Allen (worth only 2!).
Scrum-half: Danny Care - England
Value: 4 Points: 6
Considering he's played the majority of England's two games, his points tally is really poor. This is especially clear when you see Maxime Machenaud (11), Gareth Davies (11), Greig Laidlaw (19) and Conor Murray (22) are all miles ahead. Will be hoping for a better performance against Scotland.
Prop: Jack McGrath - Ireland
Value: 5 Points: 5
Selected by a lot of players but didn't even make the starting XV for the tournament opener against France. A poor selection compared to Mako Vunipola - who for the same price would have delivered nine points.
Hooker: Dylan Hartley - England
Value: 4 Points: 4
The England skipper has been a real let down. His points total is dwarfed by the likes of Guilhem Guirado (17) and Rory Best (12). Despite starting both games, his tally is also the same as Jamie George.
Prop: Tadhg Furlong - Ireland
Value: 5 Points: 5
The British and Irish Lion tighthead was picked by a massive 45% of players on ESPN but has been unable to perform at his best. An average display against France was followed by an early exit against Italy.
Lock: George Kruis - England
Value: 5 Points: 3
He'd of cost you more money than both Courtney Lawes and Joe Launchbury before the start of the 2018 Six Nations. His lowly points return is due in no small part by his lack of minutes. A really bad pick for the of players who selected him.
Lock: Richie Gray - Scotland
Value: 5 Points: 0
Despite being a doubt for the tournament, over 5% of players still selected the second-row in their teams. A very poor decision on their part.
Flanker: CJ Stander - Ireland
Value: 5 Points: 4
When you consider Sam Simmonds cost 3 and has returned 29 points, the four picked up by the Irish back-rower can only be considered as majorly disappointing, especially when you consider over 50% of players picked him.
Flanker: Justin Tipuric - Wales
Value: 4 Points: 3
He's been consistently Wales most consistent performer on the fantasy league front for years. However, he's been restricted to replacement appearances, which will likely be frustrating the 8% of players who picked him.
Number 8: Louis Picamoles - France
Value: 5 Points: 1
The French back-rower is rated highly and priced at the maximum price but so far would have returned very, very little. A poor purchase for anyone's fantasy team.

- Jordie Barrett over Damian de Allende is far from being correct. The hype around Dupont is also overreaching, he's probably 4th in the world and has been since the 2023 WC. He also avoids certain matchups which is strange. The rest of the list is pretty good apart from minor subjective biases.JasonMarlow16-09-2026
