Samoan international James Lay has joined Bristol Rugby on a two-month loan agreement.
The tighthead prop – who has made four test appearances for Samoa including an outing versus England at Twickenham in November – arrives from the Bay of Plenty.
Lay’s brother, Jordan, agreed terms to sign for Bristol Rugby ahead of the 2018/19 season from Edinburgh.
Gaston Cortes (calf) and Alex Giltrow (concussion) remain unavailable, so Pat Lam has moved quickly to bolster his front row options ahead of a crucial block of league games.
