Wasps are the latest club to join the race to sign Hurricanes back-rower Brad Shields, who has already revealed he wants to come to the Premiership.
The Rugby Paper reported on Sunday that the black and golds have identified the back-rower as a new principal target.
Shields, who is equally capable at flanker or number 8, holds a British Passport through his parents and has already opened negotiations with English clubs about a move in the next few months.
He has been attracting interest from Bristol and Northampton Saints but has a significant price tag of around £350,000 per season.

The 26-year-old, who captained the Hurricanes against the British & Irish Lions in the summer, would also qualify for England and it’s been reported he’s already spoken to Eddie Jones about a prospective call-up.
Wasps are also rumoured to be keen on bringing in Exeter-born Welsh international Aaron Jarvis from Clermont Auvergne.
Jarvis, who started his career at Bath before moving to Ospreys, has been with ASM for the last two seasons.
