UPDATE | Clubs issue updates on Courtney Lawes and Manu Tuilagi

England head coach Eddie Jones will be without Courtney Lawes for the 2020 Autumn Nations Cup after it was confirmed that he requires specialist attention on his ankle.

Although Saints haven’t issued a formal statement for the 84-cap locks recovery, a source has told the Mail Online that it’s expected that he will be out for up to three months. He is expected to have a second scan next week.

Lawes, who was pictured with a protective boot and crutches on Wednesday morning, was taken off after just nine minutes against Sale Sharks with his England teammate Manu Tuilagi departing the pitch just four minutes later.

The centre, who left Franklin’s Gardens on crutches after suffering what appeared to be a serious achilles injury.

Sources have suggested to RUCK that Sale are suggesting that his season is over, and that he likely won’t play again until the new year, meaning he will also miss England’s full Autumn schedule.
