Lewis Moody, the 2003 Rugby World Cup champion, has undoubtedly bequeathed his athletic prowess to his son, who recently earned a spot on the England U16 squad.
The young goalkeeper, currently a standout in the esteemed Southampton academy, received his inaugural call-up after delivering a series of exceptional performances.
Moody isn’t the only 2003 World Cup winner who has a son making it big with the round ball.
Neil Back’s son Fin is currently on loan from Carlisle United while Jason Robinson’s youngster is on the books of Manchester City.
Fin made 19 appearances for the Blues in his first loan spell away from his parent club during the 2022/23 campaign, and became a real favourite with the fans. His time at Brunton Park was cut short by injury when surgery was required for a nasty hamstring tear.
Back has been with Forest’s academy since the age of eight and signed his first pro deal at the end of 2019.
Meanwhile, back in April, Robinson took to social media, to share the news that his son Noah has signed for Premier League football giants Manchester City. The 2003 Rugby World Cup winner said how he was “super proud” of his son.
Manchester City published an announcement video, confirming that the young Robinson had signed with the Citizens.
Given his exceptional recent performances, it’s understandable that France would be reluctant to part with this burgeoning star.
