“A Dynamic Prop” – Jordan Els Signs New Contract with Harlequins for 2024/25 Season

Harlequins have today confirmed that prop Jordan Els has signed a new contract with the club, ahead of the 2024/25 season. The loose-head will remain at the Stoop after an impressive series of appearances, having arrived from Ealing Trailfinders in 2020.

Els has accrued 34 Harlequins caps across his time in the four quarters, which this season saw him run out in the Gallagher Premiership and Investec Champions Cup competitions. This past season saw Els make seven appearances for the Londoners, with his sole start this season coming against Gloucester in the Premiership Rugby Cup.

The South African started his professional career with The Sharks in Durban, earning first-team appearances in the Currie Cup and Super Rugby, before signing for Ealing Trailfinders in 2018. Following his move to Quins, the prop made 14 appearances in his first season, making his Gallagher Premiership debut against Wasps in September 2020. He also enjoyed stints with London Scottish in the Championship.

Commenting on his new contract, Els said: “I’ve loved my time at Quins and I’m excited to be extending my contract into next season. I’ve enjoyed working with an ambitious group of players and coaches and I’m excited to see what we can achieve together in 2024/25.”

Director of Rugby Billy Millard added: “Jordan adds great depth to our front-row and continues to work hard to improve his overall game. He is a dynamic prop who has been called upon at crucial times, and we’re confident he’ll be ready to make another step forward in a Quins shirt next season.”
