STATEMENT: Adam Hastings to depart Gloucester at the end of the season

Gloucester Rugby have confirmed that fly-half, Adam Hastings, will depart the club at the end of the season to re-join United Rugby Championship club, Glasgow Warriors.

The Scot was raised in Edinburgh, before moving South to attend Millfield School in Somerset, where he was picked up by Bath Rugby’s academy.

He made 12 appearances for the Blue, Black & Whites, before returning to Scotland to join Glasgow in 2017.

In 2021, he moved to the West Country again, arriving at Kingsholm to join the Cherry & Whites. He’s since gone on to make 40 appearances for the Club.

He has also won 27 caps for the Scottish national team.

Hastings will head back to his former club at the conclusion of the current season.

Director of Rugby, George Skivington, commented:

“We’re extremely grateful to Adam for everything he’s given to the Club in his time here. He’s a very talented rugby player and has contributed to some of our best moments over the last few seasons.

“The move back to Scotland offers Adam a great chance to put his injury trouble behind him and get a run of games for his new club, with the potential to put him back in international contention. We wish him every success and thank him for his contribution to the Cherry & White jersey.

“Adam will clearly be missed, but we’re looking forward to Gareth Anscombe joining up with us next year to complement our existing fly-halves.”

The 5 WORST Premiership signings of ALL-TIME

There can be no underestimating the importance of recruitment to Gallagher Premiership bosses with England’s top clubs spending more money than ever before.

We’ve decided to look at five of the worst Premiership signings from down the years…

#1. Jeremy Paul (Gloucester)

What a corker to start off with. The Wallabies legend and World Cup winner joined the club on a three-year contract back in 2007. However, what started off as an exciting signing turned into an expensive mistake for the Cherry & Whites, who have got next to nothing out of the hooker who will have cost them a lot of money. He played only one Premiership game for Glaws in his one season at Kingsholm, departing by mutual consent in July, 2008.
