Agustin Creevy posts emotional statement after being stripped of Argentina captaincy

Agustín Creevy has been removed as captain of the Pumas by the decision of the head coach, Mario Ledesma.

In those four seasons, Creevy reached a record: with 49 matches he surpassed Leandro Arbizu by one as the player with most games as captain.

“I fulfilled the dream that every rugby player has, to be the Captain of the National Team of my country. It has been my greatest sporting achievement, the greatest honor I could aspire to, “said Creevy.

He continued: “Today I feel immense pride, obviously sadness, and a huge thank you to all those who trusted me, to those who felt a genuine confidence that I could do it well”.

The former captain said that “the shirt of Pumas is above everything and everyone” and will continue “supporting and putting the maximum.”

“The most important thing in my sporting life are and have been Los Pumas. None of this will ever change for me. Start a new stage and I will put my best energy, “he said.
