All Blacks legend Zinzan Brooke causes online storm with his all-time XV

Zinzan Brooke, the former All Black rugby union footballer, has selected his all-time XV rugby team, but some notable names are missing from his lineup.

Despite their illustrious careers, Dan Carter, Richie McCaw, Martin Johnson, and Jonny Wilkinson did not make the cut.

Brooke, who played at number eight and represented New Zealand in 58 tests, has also had two brothers, Marty and Robin, who played rugby at representative level. Marty played for Auckland and Southland, while Robin played lock for Auckland and New Zealand.

During his career, Brooke captained Auckland Blues to Super 12 championships in 1996 and 1997 and was an influential figure in Auckland’s dominance in the National Provincial Championship during the late 1980s and 1990s.

In Brooke’s selection, eight New Zealanders make the cut, along with three Frenchmen, two Australians, and one player each from South Africa and Wales.

The 53-year-old’s team is sure to spark debate among rugby fans around the world.
