Another England international suffers injury setback in training

England centre Ben Te’o has suffered a setback in his road to recovery as injury problems mount at Worcester Warriors.

The British and Irish Lions star appeared to be closing in on making his first appearance for Warriors since having surgery on a quadriceps tear this summer.

But director of rugby Alan Solomons confirmed Te’o had sustained a calf injury and said he was unable to train with England earlier this week.

“Ben got a little bit of a setback with a calf injury,” Solomons said.

“I know that he did not train at the England camp on Monday and Tuesday. He wouldn’t be available for selection this week.

“I don’t think it will be a lengthy period (on the sidelines).

Te’o’s latest injury will be a blow to his hopes of securing a place in England’s squad for November’s autumn internationals.
