England speedster Anthony Watson WILL MISS the opening match of the 2020 Autumn Nations Cup after picking up a minor injury.
The 26-year-old was replaced in the 53rd minute of England’s 34-5 victory over Italy last week after picking up an ankle injury.
Eddie Jones has since issued an Anthony Watson injury update, confirming that he will miss Saturday’s Autumn Nations Cup opener against Georgia at Twickenham.
According to Somerset Live, Watson will now return to Bath to undergo rehabilitation.
Jones said: “Anthony won’t be available for Georgia but we’re hopeful that he’ll be available for Ireland [on November 21]. But like with all these injuries you have to wait and see.”
This is the second major blow to England’s wing ranks after Jack Nowell underwent surgery on a toe injury.
