“Back In Action” – Red Roses Squad Update Ahead of Scotland Test – Women’s Six Nations

The Red Roses are back together at the England rugby training camp, and have assembled today ahead of their upcoming trip to Scotland. The first fallow week is thankfully done and dusted, with round three of the 2024 Women’s Six Nations getting re-ignited this weekend.

England Women head coach John Mitchell has named a 36-player wider training squad, that will take to the training pitches at Pennyhill Park, in the run up to Saturday’s battle North of the border. England take on Scotland at Edinburgh’s Hive Stadium, with the Red Roses looking for a third consecutive victory in the competition.

The Red Roses have gotten off to a strong start in the Women’s Six Nations, with emphatic bonus point victories over Italy (48-0) and Wales (46-10) taking them to the top of the table. England’s search for a sixth consecutive Women’s Six Nations title continues, yet their third round opponents have recently gotten their own taste of silverware, and are in impressive form.

Scotland lifted the inaugural WXV2 title in South Africa, after achieving a trio of victories over the Springboks Women, Japan and the United States. Scotland rolled this momentum over into the first round of the Women’s Six Nations, as they achieved a narrow 20-18 win over Wales in Cardiff. Bryan Easson’s side then impressed with a hard-fought performance against France, yet were eventually felled by a 15-5 defeat.
