“Back the Boks” South Africa Named Odds On Favourites to Win 2023 Rugby World Cup

The latest betting odds have been released ahead of the Rugby World Cup semi-finals, with South Africa listed as the favourites to win the Rugby World Cup on October 28th. The Springboks take on England in the semi-finals, with Argentina and New Zealand completing the final four.

Betfair have named the latest odds, and after eliminating Rugby World Cup hosts France with an incredible 29-28 victory, South Africa have been given 10/11 (52.4%) odds of winning the entire tournament. England take on the mighty Springboks this Saturday October 21st, with Steve Borthwick’s men not favoured by the bookmakers.

England have been given 12/1 odds (7.69%) of winning the Rugby World Cup from the semi-final stage, and take up the underdog role for the upcoming clash in Paris. England reached the final four after finishing at the top of Pool D, and running out a dramatic 30-24 victory over Fiji in last night’s quarter-final.

On the opposite side of the draw, New Zealand are the second-best favourites to win the competition, with Betfair awarding them 6/5 odds (45.5%). The All Blacks and Springboks are both eyeing up a record-setting fourth Rugby World Cup title, with South Africa also looking to become the first side to replicate New Zealand’s back-to-back tournament triumphs of 2011 and 2015.

The All Blacks reach the final four after defeating Ireland 28-24, in a repeat of the 2019 Rugby World Cup quarter-finals. New Zealand ensured that Ireland’s quarter-final curse continued, as Andy Farrell’s men headed home last weekend. Ian Foster’s side take on tournament dark horses Argentina, with Los Pumas looking to reach the golden stage of the Rugby World Cup Final for the first time in their history.

After finishing Pool D as runners-up behind England, Argentina started off the weekend’s quarter-final action with a 29-17 win over Wales. Michael Cheika’s side are ready for this Southern Hemisphere showdown, however they face heavily stacked odds, with a 33/1 (2.9%) chance of winning the World Cup.
