Wallaby hooker James Hanson made his senior international debut in 2012 after previously representing Australia at Schoolboys, and U19 level. The 27-year old, who has amassed 9 caps, had played all of his Super Rugby with Queensland Reds before agreeing a deal to join the Rebels for the 2016 season. Although he has not been selected in Michael Cheika’s final 31-man squad he will remain with the group as a reserve.

Committed and forceful number 8 David Lyons was a stalwart in the Wallabies side between 2000 and 2008. Lyons, who made in total 46 Test caps for Australia, also enjoyed a successful club career which saw him from his debut in 2000 play 83 consecutive games for the Waratahs, which is a record for an Australian player. Since hanging up his international boots in 2008 he has subsequently enjoyed a spell with Welsh side Scarlets before moving across the channel to his current club Stade Francais.

Former Samoa Captain Mahonri Schwalger made his international debut in 2000 against Wales before representing the Manu at the 2003 and 2007 World Cups. Noted for his leadership skills the hooker won 40 Test caps for Samoa, scoring four tries. He also won two caps for the Pacific Islanders on their tour of Europe in 2006.
