Romania icon Danut Dumbrava is his country’s leading all-time scorer with three tries, 61 conversions, 54 penalties and one drop-goal, totalling 302 points. He made his debut in November 2002, in a 40-3 loss to Wales. The goal-kicker played all three of his nations at the 2003 Rugby World Cup finals, but despite playing only once at the 2007 tournament struck the winning penalty to secure a 14-10 win against Portugal.

In 1999, Ovidiu Tonita at the age of 19 made his international bow as a replacement for the Romanian national team, being one of the youngest players at the 1999 Rugby World Cup. He then appeared at the 2003 tournament before being appointed vice-captain ahead of the 2007 World Cup. In total, he has made 65 international appearances, scoring twelve tries.

Hard-hitting All Black Peter Whiting was a consistent member of the New Zealand squad in the early 70s. He played 56 matches for the All Blacks including 20 internationals between 1971 and 1976. Although a surgeon helped the lock manage his painful back injury, he was forced to retire from international rugby aged 30.
