BREAKING: England hopeful signs new deal with Gloucester

Gloucester Rugby have announce that loosehead prop Val Rapava-Ruskin has put pen to paper on a fresh deal at Kingsholm.

Rapava-Ruskin arrived at Gloucester Rugby in the summer of 2017 after his eye catching performances for Worcester Warriors.

Since then, the English-qualified prop has been a mainstay in the Cherry & White front-row, amassing 99 appearances, with his 100th set to come tomorrow night against Harlequins at Kingsholm.

The 30-year-old is statistically the best-performing prop in the league this season in metres made, dominant collisions, turnovers, line breaks and offloads, as well as being named the Gallagher Premiership Player of the Round in Round 12.

Gloucester Rugby Head Coach, George Skivington, is pleased that Val will remain a Cherry & White, saying:

“We’re delighted that Val has extended his time here at Kingsholm. He’s in a rich vein of form and has worked extremely hard off the field to put himself in that position.

“Our set piece has been a real area of strength this season and Val plays a big part in that. His statistics show what he adds to the team; he likes to be physical, he likes to get involved in the game around the pitch, but also does the basics well.

“We’re sure that our supporters will be equally as delighted to see Val extending his stay at Kingsholm.”
