Football fans of Coventry City have given Wasps very little sympathy after the club entered administration today.
The Coventry-based club, who were suspended by the Premiership last week, have made 167 players and staff redundant with immediate effect.
But Arena Coventry Limited, which operates the Wasps-owned Coventry Building Society Arena, may still avoid going into administration.
The relationship between the two club supporters has never been great with the Sky Blues having to play their home games in Birmingham for a time.
One fan wrote: “Deserved get your own stadium stay out of the beautiful game,”
“Good job. Cuz you ain’t got a place or a city or a town,” commented a second.
A third wrote: “The Wasps and their fanbase didn’t think about the impact it would have on our club and fanbase when they decided to kick us out of the both the CBS & our City whilst laughing at us in the process and now they want our sympathy! The irony in this is astonishing”
“Don’t let the door hit you on the way out,” said another.
A fifth commented: “Do feel sorry for the 167 that are without a job now in already uncertain times because of Richardsons, Vaughans and our councils greed and incompetence. As a club though. Good f**king riddance. The city’s ours and always will be.”
