Former All Black Dan Carter dumped by sponsor Land Rover

A drink driving charge has proved costly for Dan Carter after the car manufacturer Land Rover cut ties with the All Blacks fly-half.

The two-time world cup winner has been dumped by sponsor Land Rover after he was caught behind the wheel at almost twice the legal alcohol limit near Paris’ iconic Champs-Élysées on Wednesday night (local time).

If convicted, Carter faces a fine of a fine of up to €4500 (NZ$6647), and could also potentially lose his licence.
