All Black legends to step in and save London Welsh

  • Dan Carter and Ali Williams will play a part in saving London Welsh

The Rugby Paper has reported this morning that a consortium of Kiwi businessman that includes All Black legends Ali Williams and Dan Carter are set to step in to save London Welsh.

The RFU are set to give the go-ahead tomorrow for London Welsh to play Cornish Pirates next weekend.

The future of the historic club was in serious doubt after they were liquidated before Christmas.

Welsh had run up debts of over £2m from chasing the Premiership dream.

The Rugby Paper has learned that world cup winner Carter and Williams are involved in the group that are set to take over and save the club.



Both stars are playing in France with Racing 92, where they won the Top 14 last season.

A source revealed: “Ali wants to get involved with a club where he can add some value.

“He and Dan are both likely to be used to attract players to the club.
