Danny Cipriani: Seven clubs in the race to sign fly-half

There are now five clubs reportedly chasing the signature of Danny Cipriani, who left Gloucester by mutual consent in December.

According to the Sky Sports report, Dean Richards’ Newcastle are interested. The Falcons interest was first reported in an exclusive report from RUCK.

Another source has told RUCK that if Ealing Trailfinders secure to the Premiership next season, they will bid to sign the 16-cap international as a marquee signing.

Premiership rivals Bath were also reportedly in talks, but have pulled out according to Ben Coles’ from The Telegraph.

In France, Top 14 giant Clermont, who have been linked with Cipriani in the past when he left Wasps. are also in the hunt.

Fellow French sides Lyon and Toulon are also thought to be interested, having been in the market for a standoff for some time.

Japanese Top League side Toyota Jido Shokki Shuttles, could look to sign Cipriani as a replacement if Freddie Burns rejoins Leicester Tigers.
