David Flatman calls out Andy Goode over controversial Tweet

Sam Smith is holding their head high after being dragged on social media over their quarantine ‘meltdown’ and is all about love.

Critics, including Andy Goode, used Sam’s post to show the contrast against Captain Tom, who has become a national treasure and hero after successfully completing 100 laps around his garden to raise money for the NHS fighting on the coronavirus frontlines.

The former England fly-half tweeted: “This picture absolutely sums up what’s wrong and right about our society right now! An attention seeker v’s an inspirational hero!”

But David Flatman responded, reminding Goode that he had been supporting the #Bekind movement in the weeks prior to this outburst.

Flatman tweeted: “Whatever happened to #BeKind Goodey? Didn’t last long.”

When challenged, the former Bath prop added: “Goodey is a good man and we have been friends for a long time. We all make mistakes and say things that, on reflection, we wouldn’t say again, me included.

“I think this might be one. I could be wrong.”

Remember #bekind
