Denton signs for Bath as replacement for Burgess

  • David Denton joins Bath as replacement for Sam Burgess
  • The back-row has won 32 caps for Scotland
Bath have completed the signing of Scotland back-row forward David Denton from Edinburgh to replace the departing Sam Burgess.

Standing 6ft 5ins tall, close to 18 stone, Denton played a key role in the Dark Blues Rugby World Cup campaign, which saw them come within seconds of reaching the semi-finals.

“We’ve been looking to bolster our back row for some time now so we’re very excited that David is joining us,” said Bath head coach Mike Ford.

Bath have used some of the money from the sale of Burgess, who returned to rugby league last week, to buy out the final six months of Denton’s contract with Pro12 side Edinburgh.
