  • The Aussie replaced Stuart Lancaster as England’s head coach and has since won all nine games in charge.
England head coach Eddie Jones has hinted that he may step down from his role if his team wins the Rugby World Cup in Japan in 2019.

Jones indicated that he would like to work with another team like Japan, who he guided to a shock Rugby World Cup win over the Springboks in England last year.

Since then, the former Wallabies boss took over the reins England’s head coach, winning all nine matches in charge.

“I want to win the World Cup, but once you’ve won the World Cup, I think there’s other projects you could be involved in to make the game better,” he told the BBC.

“I’m lucky to be involved in a great sport like rugby, and having done something with Japan that people thought you couldn’t do, I’d love to do that in another country.

“Who knows – we’ll wait until end of the World Cup, then we’ll take it from there.”

Jones’ current contract runs through to the end of the 2019 World Cup.
