England fly half Fin Smith has been named Gallagher PREM Rugby Player of the Month for April, having steered Northampton Saints to the top of the table.

The men in green, black and gold have booked their place in the end of season play-offs, with a game to go before the culmination of the regular season. Smith won 44% of the vote ahead of Leicester Tigers’ Gabriel Hamer-Webb, Saracens’ Noah Caluori and Bristol Bears’ Kalaveti Ravouvou.
Smith amassed 31 points across the two rounds, guiding Saints to back-to-back victories and strengthening their position at the top of the log. In Round 13, Smith scored the winning try with just five seconds remaining to secure a dramatic bonus point win over play-off rivals Exeter Chiefs at Sandy Park.
The England No.10 followed that with another standout display in Round 14 as Saints edged closest challengers Bath Rugby in a thrilling top-of-the-table clash at cinch Stadium ay Franklin’s Gardens. The 24-year-old crossed for the opening try to set the tone for one of the matches of the season and capped off a fine all-round performance by landing the decisive late penalty in a 41-38 home victory.
