England bring in Bath’s Semesa Rokoduguni as cover for suspended Chris Ashton

  • Bath wing Semesa Rokoduguni has been called up as cover for the banned Chris Ashton
  • The Saracens winger has been given a 10-week ban, ruling him out of the Six Nations
  • Ashton was cited for making contact with the eyes of another player and Saracens are considering an appeal
England have added Bath winger Semesa Rokoduguni to their Six Nations training squad as doubts remain over Saracens Chris Ashton.

With Saracens having until Monday afternoon to appeal the 10-week ban issued to Ashton for making contact with the eye area of Ulster centre Luke Marshall, head coach Eddie Jones has opted to summon Rokoduguni to the Red Rose training camp.

The 28-year-old, a member of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, has one Test cap to his name, having been selected by former England coach Stuart Lancaster for the autumn international against New Zealand in November 2014.

England begins their Six Nations campaign in Scotland at Murrayfield on 6th February, ending it on 19th March against France at Stade de Frace.
