John Mitchell, the former All Blacks boss who is England’s new defence coach, says he has learned important lessons since his once abrasive approach prompted player revolts at Western Force and Golden Lions.
“People make mistakes and I have,” revealed Mitchell to the Mail Online.
“But there has been success as well. At least I had a good look in the mirror and said that I wanted to get better.
“I will not shy away from having a strong methodology. The lessons I have experienced will hold me in good stead.
He added: “I am back coaching at international level and you cannot put a currency on the development I am gaining.”
