England rugby star pulls out of I’m A Celebrity days before the start of show

Former England rugby star Danny Cipriani has opted out of participating in the I’m A Celebrity 2023 lineup, citing the conclusion of his two-year marriage.

The 36-year-old athlete had tied the knot with 42-year-old Victoria Rose in an intimate ceremony in 2021, but the couple recently revealed their decision to part ways.

He shared on Instagram: “Victoria and I sat together this weekend and agreed to separate after 4 years of marriage. Whilst we’ve had some wonderful times together, we’ve also recognised we’re on different journeys and whilst this is sad news, it’s also a new chapter for us both to pursue our own happiness. I only wish the best for Victoria and her children.”

Anticipated to secure a substantial fee for his stint on I’m A Celebrity, Cipriani may instead feature on the upcoming edition of Celebrity Big Brother.

The rugby star’s intentions to enter the jungle appear to have been thwarted by his relationship woes, despite being touted by ITV insiders as ‘one of the most exciting signings for this series.’

A source revealed about their relationship two weeks ago: “Victoria had been increasingly unhappy over the last few months.

“Things got tense and then she saw some text messages on his phone and it led to some difficult rows between them and they have now split up.

“They are both devastated at the breakdown of their marriage.”

If you find yourself trending on Twitter with your own hashtag it usually means you’ve messed up.

1. Mike Tindall

Tindall – who was newly married to the Queen’s granddaughter in 2011 – had insisted he went back to his hotel alone after CCTV captured him canoodling with the young woman in the Altitude bar in Queenstown. Tindall assured England team managers and his public relations representatives that the claims were false, but the image, which is pretty damning, was published across the world .
