Every teams best and worst players on Six Nations super Saturday

FRANCE:

BEST PLAYER: Leo Barre

Telegraph 8/10: “Surged through to set up Le Garrec and scored himself. Occasionally edgy in the kicking exchanges. Improve there and he can be phenomenal.”

Guardian 8/10: “Electric. Produced a stunning dummy and flicked pass inside for Le Garrec’s opening try and on hand to finish off one of his own. “

Planet Rugby 8/10: “After sending Nolann Le Garrec over for his try, the full-back opened his international account, getting on the end of a sharp Charles Ollivon offload. Regularly ate up the metres on the counter-attack and was solid enough under the high ball. Could have done better with his defence for Tommy Freeman’s try, but he was isolated.”

WORST PLAYER: Nicolas Depoortere

Planet Rugby 5/10: “The 21-year-old clearly has a bright future in the Les Bleus jumper, but his youth is clear to see, particularly on defence. Ball in hand, he is a joy to watch and played his part in some of France’s best-flowing attacks, including a perfectly timed short ball to Fickou for Le Garrec’s try.”

Guardian 5/10: “His handling let him down with a knock-on as France looked to build an attack and defensively not great. Not his best performance to date.”

ENGLAND:

BEST PLAYER: Ollie Chessum

Telegraph 8/10: “Took the fight to the French pack more than any English forward. Incredible workrate and is coming on nicely as a ball-carrier.”

Rugby Pass 8/10: “Clattering start that included on jolting tackle with England the early cosh, he continued to be a defensive leader along with Earl. Capably grasped the lineout for the first Lawrence try. Another hooked too early, departing on 54 minutes.”

WORST PLAYER: Henry Slade

Rugby Pass 5.5/10: “With Furbank gone so early, he needed to defensively step up but he struggled. Eventually called ashore on the hour. A real pity as much more was expected.”
