Saracens duo Cameron Boon and Ralph Adams-Hale will bid farewell to rugby at the conclusion of the season, the club announced.
Both players have received medical advice prompting an early retirement from the sport.
Adams-Hale, aged 27, who amassed 29 appearances for Saracens and notably featured in the Premiership final triumph against Exeter Chiefs in 2019, expressed the difficulty of the decision. Citing medical concerns regarding his shoulder, he emphasised the imperative of prioritising his long-term health.
He said: “It was not an easy choice to make, and I deeply wish I could keep playing, however I have been medically advised to retire because of my shoulder and I must prioritise my long-term health and well-being,”
Boon, a 24-year-old lock, who contributed in 11 appearances for the reigning league champions, extended his gratitude to all involved in his rugby journey, acknowledging the privilege of living out his dreams.
He said: “Thank you to everyone who has been involved in my rugby career and giving me the opportunity to live a young lads dream.”
As Saracens gear up to face Sale on the Premiership’s final day, they sit in second place, aiming for victory to secure a home semi-final at StoneX Stadium.
