Exeter Chiefs continue to strengthen for next season…

  • Three front-rowers put pen to paper on new deals with the Aviva Premiership club
  • Props Ben Moon and Carl Rimmer have both agreed new contracts
  • Hooker Shaun Malton has all penned a new deal with the Chiefs
Rob Baxter has continued his preparations for next season by awarding new contracts to three Exeter Chiefs front rowers.

Homegrown prop Ben Moon has penned a new three-year deal, whilst Carl Rimmer has agreed a one-year extension and Shaun Malton has signed on for another season at Sandy.

Commenting on the deals, Baxter said: “Ben has been a remarkably good and consistent performer for us for a number of years.

He’s come up through our academy system, spent all of his career with Exeter and been one of those guys who have been a core part of our time in the Premiership and in Europe.

“He comes in every day, puts his head down, works very hard and is a very popular member of the squad. He’s one of those real success stories you want to see as a coach at a rugby club and we’re delighted he is going to stay for another three years.

“We know from working with him every day what he offers to us. He’s a very good Premiership player, probably under-rated by a lot of people, but who we know is very consistent and very durable.

“Although he’s been a very long time, we still think his best years are ahead of him and that what we hope to see over this next contract.”
