Ridl accepted the charge of foul play during the RFU disciplinary hearing, which was conducted on papers by judicial officer Charles Cuthbert. The hearing concluded with a two-match ban for the Chiefs’ promising young winger.

The suspension means Ridl will miss Exeter’s third European Challenge Cup Pool Three trip to Paris to face early leaders Stade Français, as well as the home clash with Cardiff at Sandy Park on 18 January.

This incident marks a setback for the 20-year-old, who has been an emerging talent for Exeter this season. While still early in his professional career, Ridl’s physicality and aerial ability have been key features of his game, but this ban will require him to refocus on timing and discipline as the Chiefs push on in both domestic and European competitions.
