Former England and Leicester coach makes move to Rugby league

Huddersfield Giants have boosted their coaching ranks with the addition of Oliver Richardson to replace Mark Andrews as their Head of Performance.

The 37-year-old has vast experience of high-level environments having worked at Leicester Tigers, England Rugby Union, Queensland Reds and latterly in Japan with Kubota Spears.

Richardson said “It’s a real privilege to be joining Huddersfield Giants. I have spoken in great length with Simon Woolford about where we want to take the team and how we can develop the squad to get them to perform at their best week in week out.

“Simon was the key part in my decision to come and we believe we can create an environment which will allow our players to play their best rugby consistantly

“I’ll be on the plane with my family as soon as possible to start working hands on and in the meantime, as Richard said, I’m in regular contact will all the staff and have a pretty good idea of what we need to do get fitter, stronger and more durable. “
