However, this list of players have seen their prosperity suffer a sharp downturn through the current campaign

#1. Alun Wyn Jones (Wales)

Will Rowland’s continued skyward trajectory and Adam Beard’s fine individual campaign has seen the 36-year-old slip down the pecking order.

Once arguably the first name on the team sheet – and one of Wales most important players, Jones has now been relegated to benchwarmer.

The legendary second-row, who is the most capped rugby player of all-time, has made two uninspiring replacement appearances, being sin-binned in both games.

It feels like we are coming to the end of an era.
