“France Are Favourites” – Antoine Dupont Boosts France’s Odds for Olympic Sevens Gold

France men favourites for Rugby Sevens Olympic Gold in Paris as Antoine Dupont guides Les Bleus to first Sevens title in 19 years. The Toulouse maestro led his side to the LAX SVNS title (Los Angeles Sevens), and impressed all onlookers ahead of the upcoming Summer Olympics.

With Dupont at the helm, the bookmakers have labelled France as the front-runners for the Olympic Gold medals. Les Bleus come in at 4/1 to win the tournament on home soil, which runs from the 24th to the 30th of July. The latest odds have been released by BetIdeas, and put the hosts in pole position for the top spot on the podium.

“Argentina are 5/1 second favourites while New Zealand and Rio 2016 Gold Medal winners in Men’s Rugby sevens, Fiji, are both 6/1 to go all the way in the tournament in Paris. 

“In terms of outsiders, Great Britain are 12/1 to win the Gold Medal ahead of South Africa at 14/1 with both countries yet to qualify for the twelve-team tournament.”
