Wales legend Gavin Henson has apologised and explained why he has been completely axed from the Dragons team to face the Ospreys on New Year’s Eve.
Following the announcement of the teams for the Ospreys match, one Dragons fan took to Twitter to query why Henson was nowhere to be seen, expressing his frustration that no explanation had been given.
No @gavinhenson82 and no explanation…don’t you hate that. Either injured, punished for not a great game v blues, rested? But not even on the bench against his former club…wierd!

After seeing the tweet, Henson replied: “Yeah, sorry, I wasn’t physical enough in the contact area, especially after being bounced off so I’ve lost my place. It’s an area of my game that isn’t great at the moment so working hard on putting that right.”

Fans were impressed with Henson’s honesty.
Gav, thanks for open and honest reply. Gutted you are not playing, was looking forward to watching the game. Keep at it, massive respect what you are doing at 35, nearly 36. I have actually been damn impressed with your work in the contact area-we all slip/ miss a few tackles!

It’s rare to see such honesty from a sportsman, or anyone in the public eye these days. Respect to you. Arwel is a great young prospect at 10 and I’m sure that he’ll learn a lot from you.
