Reports suggest Gloucester have landed the signing of Zach Mercer in a move that will allow the back-rower to represent England at the 2023 World Cup.
Mercer confirmed earlier this summer that Eddie Jones had been in touch over his international future.
“I think he respects me a lot more that I took this opportunity and have gone to France because I wanted to develop my game,” said Mercer on the RugbyPass Offload podcast.
“I think he looks at me slightly differently than he did before.”
The number 8 all but confirmed the move in a Twitter reply.
