Last weekend, we witnessed a real contender for try of the season in Premiership Women’s Rugby. Versatile Trailfinders star Carys Cox showcased her talents with a stunning solo try, as she evaded almost the entire Exeter Chiefs back-line on her way through to the score.
Cox slalomed her way through three tackle attempts, before planting a strong fend on a fourth covering defender. The Welsh international then ignited the afterburners, and was away from the back-peddling Chiefs to wrap up a scintillating score. You can watch the highlight worthy try in the video below.
Despite the inspired efforts of Carys Cox, the try resulted in little more than a consolation score for the visitors. Cox reduced the deficit to 38-12, with Ellie Green kicking the conversion. Trailfinders Women then added a further five points with Kate Zackery going over in the corner after 77 minutes, to close out their scoring.
