Injury News: Ireland star ruled out of All Blacks clash

Openside flanker Dan Leavy has been ruled out of Ireland’s clash with the All Blacks in Dublin on Saturday and replaced by Josh van der Flier.

Jordi Murphy has taken Van der Flier’s place on the bench. It is bad luck for Ireland, who had first-choice opensider Sean O’Brien ruled out earlier in the week with a broken arm.

An Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) spokesman confirmed Leavy had failed a fitness test at Friday’s training session’.

“Dan Leavy had a fitness test this morning and it was decided he was not 100 per cent, so he will miss the match due to general tightness,” an IRFU spokesman confirmed.
