The All Blacks ended their 2024 season on a high, defeating Italy 29-11 in their final match of the end-of-year tour at a packed Stadio Olimpico in Turin. Despite Italy’s resilience and early pressure, New Zealand’s class and clinical finishing proved decisive.
Italy opened the scoring through Paolo Garbisi’s penalties in the 11th and 15th minutes, giving the hosts an early 6-0 lead. However, New Zealand soon found their rhythm, with Cam Roigard darting over in the 23rd minute after sustained forward pressure. Beauden Barrett added the extras and followed up with a penalty soon after, shifting the momentum firmly in the All Blacks’ favor.
As halftime approached, the All Blacks extended their lead with a scintillating backline move, finished by Will Jordan in the corner. Barrett’s accurate boot made it 17-6 at the break.
Italy fought bravely in the second half but struggled to break down New Zealand’s defense. The All Blacks widened the gap when Mark Tele’a powered through for a try in the 69th minute, converted once more by Barrett. The hosts found some joy late in the match when Tommaso Menoncello crossed for a try in the 75th minute, energizing the crowd.
Fittingly, Beauden Barrett capped off a stellar individual performance with a try of his own in the 78th minute, sealing the win and bringing his personal tally to 14 points.
The victory rounded off a challenging but successful tour for New Zealand as they now look ahead to 2025.

He was constantly putting pressure on the All Blacks and had a solid performance throughout the match.
14 Jacopo Trulla – 6
He got the ball at a key moment for the Italians but his efforts weren’t seen on that many occasions.
13 Juan Ignacio Brex (c) – 7
His solid defence kept Italy in the game, notably with his interception of New Zealand’s offload in the 69th minute.
12 Tommaso Menoncello – 9
His efforts were seen throughout the game as stole the ball and eventually became his side’s only try scorer with an incredible display of pace.
11 Monty Ioane – 7.5
He helped his side greatly with his tackling skills, especially in the far-right corner, and was consistently in the efforts to push forward.
10 Paolo Garbisi – 8
His incredible kicking led his team ahead to begin with and continued to apply pressure to the All Blacks with this as well as his tackling.

His performance was strong throughout with great kicks and continuous pressure.

He was one of the highest on the tackle count, pushing hard against New Zealand and making a big dent in their plays.
7 Manuel Zuliani – 6.5
Another strong tackler throughout the game, having a busy night in defensive.
6 Sebastian Negri – 7
His effort and determination were evident in the game with the number of carries and tackles he made. He was a key player for the Italian side.
5 Dino Lamb – 8
He was continuously making strong moves throughout the game, despite coming off for a short time for an HIA, and was one of the most noticeable Italian players on the pitch.
4 Federico Ruzza – 6
He had a long stint in the game but wasn’t a stand-out player.
3 Marco Riccioni – 5
He made a few tackles, slowing down the All Blacks, but he also made a couple errors. Not his best performance.
2 Gianmarco Lucchesi – 5.5
Continuously pushing into tackles and mauls, his efforts showed throughout.
1 Danilo Fischetti – 5
He kept making good efforts and getting stuck into plays but wasn’t too far from his average performance.
