Japanese hero joins Queensland Reds

The Queensland Reds have scored a major coup by signing Japanese World Cup hero Ayumu Goromaru ahead of next year’s Super Rugby season.

The 29-year-old fullback impressed during the World Cup and scored 24 points, including a superb late try as the Brave Blossoms made history by overcoming South Africa in their opening game of the compeition.

“I have followed the Queensland Reds for many years and am looking forward to joining the squad and meeting my new team mates,” admitted Goromaru.

“Following my experiences at the Rugby World Cup, I’m looking forward to the chance of proving myself at Super Rugby level.”
